Earn Extra Money from Home Using RSS Feeds for Your Blogs

If you have been around the internet marketing circle for awhile then you have probably heard of RSS. RSS stands for 'really simple syndication' but it can also mean 'rich site summary' or 'RDF sitesummary' - RDF standing for 'resource description framework.' If you have been doing any blogging then you really need to be using RSS to give your site a boost.

RSS is a tool that allows sites to give a quick summary of important links and descriptions in XML format. This allows them to syndicate their content by allowing other blog owners to use this summary as part of a list of summaries on a topic of their choice. Bloggers collect these summaries with what they call a 'feed aggregator' or a 'feedreader'. These aggregators find RSS feeds to aggregate from selected sites - such as Yahoo and MSN - and selected smaller sites, such as personal blogs and news sites.

They take a script that is generated by the aggregator and insert it into their blogs, this creates an rss feed that pulls the news and blog posts from the other sites. If you have your own rss feed you can also syndicate your content across the internet. Using the rss feeds you can add new fresh content to your blog. This allows you to put new content links and summaries on your site without spending your time to hunt around for this information, write it yourself or pay somebody else to do it for you.

RSS can help drive traffic to your site and help keep that traffic since you are adding new content all of the time and that will keep your readers coming back for new information. As long as you have selected a feed aggregator and selected feeds from different sites and blogs you will have your new content.

Since you will have new updated content, you can ping more often and that will help get higher rankings for your targeted keywords. Using a simple RSS feed can help out with this a great deal by allowing you to add fresh, content to your blog without actually updating it yourself. Search engines love blogs and especially new content. Using rss feeds also creates backlinks to your sites which help with your sites ranking within the serps.

We as bloggers and webmasters are in a constant drive to obtain traffic for our sites and rss feeds are another tool in our arsenal to achieve that goal. You just have to want it bad enough to get out there and work for it. If you put the time and effort out there the traffic will come.
