How To Write A Press Release That Works
We as internet marketers are always in pursuit of driving traffic to our sites. Through the use of press releases is a very effective way to get some of that elusive traffic. This is a serious marketing tool that is overlooked by many marketers.
The one main problem that is facing a lot of marketers is that they haven't a clue as how to write a press release that will be approved by the publishers. There are differences between writing articles and press release writing. While a majority of people can throw together a decent article it takes a bit more skill to write up a credible press release. Since these press releases are usually picked up by reporting communities around the net. This all boils down to that you have to be writing about something that at least has a newsworthy ring to it. This is where most people end up failing.
There are templates on the net that gives you something to go by when you want to write your press release. Sites that are publishing these press releases are looking for credible pieces of work not just any kind of old junk thrown their way.
The subject for your release needs to be something that sounds like news. Launching of a new site or a product is a good place to start. If you are expanding your business that is agood reason for a release. Anything along those lines of news subjects that you can create so as to be interesting to people.
What I am getting ready to show you will be a decent template to follow when writing a release. At least by following this template it will look more credible and help your get your releases accepted by distributors.

Put your headline here. Make sure that you put it in bold. It can be in the same font face and size as the rest of the content. Try to craft a headline that looks like it would come out of a newspaper and not an internet sales page.
Your City, Your State - The Date - Start your content here. It's best to restate and/or add to your headline in the first sentence. Then just continue to write in a very formal style. Keep everything simple and to the point.
Try to include several paragraphs. The whole thing should be at least 600 words long and usually no longer than 1500 words. End it with what is written below. For Information: Your Website Address - Your Email Address # # #. End all of your press releases with three pound signs.
Try to stay within the confines of this template to help with your degree of success. Make sure your contact information is correct and up to date. You never know when that you may get a phone call from someone who wants to publish your story.
